About Jo

Joanne joined the Experts in Skin & Hair team as a Senior Dermatology Clinical Nurse Specialist, bringing with her over 20 years of nursing experience and a specialist interest in dermatology. After qualifying as a registered nurse in 2003, Joanne has worked within University Hospitals Sussex throughout her career, gaining experience across Orthopaedics, Elderly Medicine and Surgical wards before specialising in dermatology.

With 18 years dedicated to the dermatology field, Joanne has developed extensive expertise and holds both a Postgraduate Diploma in Dermatology and a Postgraduate Certificate in Dermatology Minor Surgery. Alongside her role at the clinic, Joanne is the Lead Nurse for Photodynamic Therapy and Minor Surgery at UH Sussex Brighton Hospital and is currently working towards becoming a nurse prescriber.

Passionate about patient care and clinical excellence, Joanne particularly enjoys supporting patients with hair loss concerns, skin cancer care and dermatological surgery. Her experience, knowledge and compassionate approach help ensure patients feel informed, supported and confident throughout their treatment journey.

Outside of work, Joanne enjoys spending time with her family, visiting historical places and practising cross-stitch needlework. She looks forward to welcoming patients to Experts in Skin & Hair and supporting them throughout their skin and hair journey.
