Consultant Acne Treatment for Worthing

Consultant-led treatment for adult, hormonal and cystic acne, a short trip from Worthing at our Hove clinic.

Hormonal acne in adults is stubborn, often flaring along the jaw and chin, and it rarely clears with the products aimed at teenage skin. Worthing patients travel the short distance along the coast to our Hove clinic for consultant treatment that gets underneath it.

Hormonal and adult acne

Adult acne, and hormonal acne in particular, needs a different approach from adolescent breakouts, and getting the diagnosis right is what makes treatment work. We treat the full range, from blackheads and inflamed spots to persistent cystic acne and the scarring it can leave.

Every plan starts with a consultant working out the type and severity of your acne rather than reaching for the same generic regime.

What to expect at your appointment

The consultation covers your skin history, hormonal factors and what you have already tried. The consultant examines your skin, explains the cause and sets out a staged plan with an honest timescale.

Treatments available

Options run from medical-grade topicals through to hormonal treatment and isotretinoin for severe cases, prescribed and monitored throughout, with scarring treated as part of the same care.

Why choose Experts in Skin & Hair

You see a consultant dermatologist from the first appointment. Dr Pallavi Gupta leads on acne and hormonal skin and consults at our Hove clinic, and no GP referral is needed to book.

Getting to us from Worthing

Worthing does not have a clinic of ours, but our Hove clinic at Montefiore Hospital (2 Montefiore Road, BN3 1RD) is around eleven miles along the coast, a short drive on the A259 or A27, or a direct train.

Recognising hormonal acne

Hormonal acne tends to show up along the jawline, chin and lower face, often flaring in a monthly pattern, and it is common in adult women who may never have had bad skin as teenagers. Standard teenage products frequently make little difference to it.

A consultant can identify whether hormones are driving your acne and offer treatments aimed specifically at that, which is usually where lasting improvement comes from.

Booking, fees and insurance

Worthing patients can book directly at the Hove clinic, with no referral. Fees are confirmed upfront. Some insurers no longer cover acne treatment, so many patients self-pay, and costs are always made clear first.
