Private Dermatologist in Haywards Heath
Consultant-led diagnosis and treatment for the full range of skin conditions in mid-Sussex.
A skin lesion that has appeared, changed or will not heal is worth getting a consultant opinion on, and mid-Sussex patients no longer have to travel far for one. Our Haywards Heath clinic covers the full range of skin conditions with diagnostics on site.
Skin conditions and lesions we treat
From eczema, psoriasis and rosacea to warts, skin tags, cysts and suspected skin cancer, our consultants diagnose and treat the full range in patients aged 16 and over. Benign lesions can be removed and suspicious ones biopsied without a separate referral.
On-site skin diagnostics, including biopsies, swabs and patch testing, mean a diagnosis can usually be confirmed quickly.
What to expect at your appointment
A consultant examines your skin, reaches a diagnosis, arranges any diagnostics needed and sets out a treatment plan, whether that is prescription treatment, minor surgery or ongoing management.
Treatments and fees
Treatment ranges from topical and oral therapies to cryotherapy, minor surgery and lesion removal. As a guide, procedure fees including hospital fees start from £350 for shave excision, curettage and cautery, £500 for cyst removal, and £775 for skin cancer excision including histology. Your consultant confirms all fees before anything goes ahead.

Where to find us
The clinic is at Nuffield Health Haywards Heath, Burrell Road (RH16 1UD). No referral is required and waits are typically short.
We see patients aged 16 and over here. Younger patients, and anyone needing hair or scalp care, are seen at our Matlock Road clinic in Brighton.
Getting a skin lesion checked and removed
A new growth, a spot that will not heal, or a lesion that has changed is worth a consultant opinion, because the same visit can both diagnose and treat. Benign lesions such as skin tags, cysts and seborrhoeic keratoses can be removed, and anything suspicious biopsied.
Techniques include minor surgery and cryotherapy, chosen to suit the lesion and to keep any scarring to a minimum.
Booking, fees and insurance
Appointments can be booked directly at Haywards Heath. Fees are confirmed upfront. Benign lesion removal is typically not covered by insurance unless there is a medical reason such as catching, bleeding or infection.
